There’s no denying that little kids can definitely have a mischievous side, and tend to get into trouble sometimes.

When a mom shared a picture of her son in a lion enclosure, it went viral on the internet and the woman was overwhelmed with criticism by strangers.

The picture she shared was of her son in a lion enclosure, and mom posted an update a couple of days later to explain herself.

The little boy named Noah and his mom Shanice Moore were going on a zoo trip one day, and mom saw the trip as the perfect opportunity to capture some pictures and make some memories.

Little did she know that one of these photos would be the cause of a whole lot of controversy on social media.

Noah is a huge fan of lions, and that’s the main reason he wanted to go to Colchester Zoo in the UK.

Of course, the boy wanted to have a picture with one of the lions as well, so mom took a bunch of them in the viewing area of the lion’s den.

When the two got back home and Shanice looked at all the photos she’d taken on her smartphone, she noticed one picture that stood out.

In this one, it actually appeared as if little Noah was on the other side of the glass, playing with the lion in his enclosure.

Of course, Shanice was a little bit shocked at first and thought that this wasn’t possible. After all, she’s pretty sure that her son never made a detour into the actual lion enclosure!

However, it didn’t take long before she realized what was going on.

She didn’t mean to take a picture of Noah, she wanted to take a picture of the lion all by himself.

Noah wasn’t posing with the lion, but his reflection clearly had other thoughts.

The reflection is actually pretty believable, and that’s why Shanice decided to post the funny picture online. It didn’t take long before the incredible photograph started circulating across social media, and it even made the national newspapers!

Apparently, the picture was also quite special for another reason.

According to the zoo staff, this lion named Bailey will very rarely go up to the window. It’s an extremely rare occurrence, and it seems like Noah was very lucky that day!

For Shanice, this also wasn’t just a visit to the zoo. You see, Noah actually has a form of autism and he usually interacts with people and the world in a completely non-verbal way.

During previous visits to the zoo, the little boy would barely react to all the animals, but this time was clearly different. Mom felt like he had made some progress, and it was a special moment for her.

“He was staring at the lion for ages, and because we’ve got a pet cat at home, he actually said, “kitty-kat,” which was amazing and very emotional for me,” she said.

Because the photo had such a huge impact, she decided to frame it.

Not because it went viral, but because it reminds her of the day since Noah started to get more out of his shell.

Noah has actually made a bunch of progress since then, as he recently just had his first full week of school.

The little boy is still not really verbal, but other things are starting to improve as well. For example, one day, Noah saw his father coming home and shouted “Daddy” for the first time.

An adorable moment and milestone, of course, and Shanice even managed to capture it on video.

It also appears that little Noah will be having some company in a while, because mom recently revealed that she was expecting a baby in December.
