This video shows you how to create a special skin cleanser and a wrinkle removal mask using potatoes as a base. This simple routine is meant to help tighten the skin and target fine lines and wrinkles. Potatoes are not only great food to eat but have quite a lot of benefits when it comes to our skin.
The big ingredient that makes it amazing for skincare is an enzyme called ‘catecholase’. This particular enzyme in potatoes helps brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of dark circles. Along with these benefits, potatoes are a great gentle exfoliator.
Get a medium-sized potato.
You’ll begin by peeling the skin off of the potato. Once finished, you can grate the potato by hand or throw it into a blender. This will give you a potato paste consistency. Then take a strainer to sieve the paste. Make sure you squeeze all the liquid out.
You’re going to keep the potato paste for the skin cleanser and the liquid will be used for a wrinkle removing skin tightening mask.
The two-ingredient skin-cleanser recipe.
You’re going to take the potato paste from before and mix it with two tablespoons of milk. Make sure to mix the ingredients really well and that’s it.
When using this cleanser, you just apply it to your face, rubbing it gently in circular motions for 2-3 minutes. Then wash it off and pat dry.
Wrinkle removing mask recipe.
Make sure to leave the potato liquid you previously squeezed until you see a starch layer form at the bottom. This will take about 15 minutes and then you want to pour the water out and keep the starch.
You’re going to take two tablespoons of the starch, half an egg white, two tablespoons of rice powder and mix well.
After using the cleanser, apply this mask all over your face and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then rinse the mask off with cold water and then move to warm water. Repeat this mask three times a week for best results.
Follow up with other products and your favorite moisturizer.
In this YouTube video, they recommend moisturizing with an oil like olive or sweet almond oil. You can keep the cleanser and mask in your fridge for up to three days.
If your products dry up, try adding a little bit of milk to re-establish the creamy consistency.
