Hot and Flashy‘s Angie has done all the work and figured out the best tips and products to use to reduce the look of under-eye wrinkles.

Angie is a 50-something woman who noticed, like many women, that the makeup routine she followed in her younger years was not working for her current skin.

Using the wrong products, and too much of them, led to her wrinkles looking even bigger than they actually were.

Because of that, she started researching and experimenting with new products and the proper ways to use them.

Her first tip is one of the most important, no matter your age or skin condition, use a good moisturizer!

Use something that is lightweight but still jam packed with all the good ingredients that can help revitalize you skin; things like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and glycerin.

The second tip is also an extremely important one that everyone should do everyday, regardless of your skin.

Whether it is summer or winter, the sun is still shining and using a good quality sunscreen can help protect your skin from any new damage that the sun can cause.

Angie recommends a lightly tinted sunscreen that can help to begin evening out your skin tone before adding any actual makeup.

The sunscreen can take about 20 minutes to set, so putting on your moisturizer and sunscreen first thing in the morning is recommended.

By the time you have gotten dressed and eaten breakfast, or dried your hair, the sunscreen will have set and you can move on to tip 3.

Tip 3 is simple, do not put foundation under your eyes! Foundation can look cakey and settle into all the fine lines under your eyes, completely negating the point of the rest of the beauty routine.

Tip 4 is to use a good primer.

Primer helps to even out skin texture ensure that whatever you put on top of it will stay in place all day and won’t begin to crease after a few hours.

Tip 5 is to use a hydrating concealer. Hydration is important in a concealer as it helps to firm up your skin and adds additional moisturizing benefits.

The sixth tip is one that should be used throughout the entire routine, use as little product as possible!

Adding too much of any product can result in a very cakey look, so Angie recommends using as little product as you can while still ensuring proper coverage.

Tip 7 is to make sure that when you are blending your concealer, you do so in an outward pressing motion.

Many people will instinctively aim in towards the nose when blending, but instead, press outwards towards the corners of your eyes.

Doing it this way will help to avoid adding additional wrinkle lines, and maintains a more natural look.

Tip 8 is especially important for perfectionists, make sure you take a step back and look at yourself from a distance.

When putting on makeup it is the habit of many women to be right up close to the mirror, or to use a magnifying mirror, remember that no one else will be this close to your face.

By taking a step back and looking at the overall picture, it is easier to see that things do, in fact, look good and even.

Tips number 9 and 10 are about setting powders.

Setting powders are beneficial in providing an even look and reducing some of the shine that many concealers give.

Tip 9 is to remember to actually use a setting powder, this is an important step and you don’t want to skip it.

And finally, tip number 10; use the least amount of setting powder you can and press it on, don’t swipe.

Once the powder is on, then remove any excess from your brush and gently swipe away any loose powder that remains.
