Being in the middle of the storm is never a pleasant feeling, and it just makes us all want to go home, dry and safe, as soon as possible. Sometimes humans even have trouble getting from point A to point B in a storm, let alone animals!

When it comes to our furry friends, some of them even can even anticipate when a storm occurs. Cats and dogs, for example, will often run right back inside the home the night before bad weather is expected.

Do some animals have a sixth sense to detect storms? Well, it turns out, they kind of do.

It’s not paranormal or anything like that, but it’s just animal biology. It’s not unheard of that the instincts and senses of many animals, can be a lot stronger than that of us humans.

While a ‘sixth sense’ may not be perfect terminology for this predictive behavior, they do have a sort of weather-detecting sensor system.

Because of their stronger senses, they’ll also pick up even the tiniest changes in the environment and the weather, things that us humans would never even notice, to begin with. That’s also why some dogs can detect an earthquake or a tsunami before it happens.

Sometimes, when there’s a heavy storm coming, wild animals will look for some sturdy shelter well beforehand.

And luckily, there are a lot of animal lovers out there who are more than willing to open up their shed or even their backdoor for some animals in need, just like Imgur-user Amscolie.

She is actually a wildlife rehabilitator and knows a thing or two about undomesticated animals.

Recently, she posted a couple pictures of a deer who was wandering around her home- and the deer wasn’t alone!

The woman already knew that a storm was coming soon and she figured that the animal was looking for a safe haven. The deer also had a couple of fawns that needed protection for the storm.

She decided to simply leave the backdoor open, to make sure animals in need would have easy shelter when the storm finally hit.

When she decided to check out her home, she saw three baby deer inside making themselves comfortable!

She was actually quite surprised that these three fawns were able to get inside without their mom, who seemingly decided to wait for them in the woods.

She was kind of relieved that these adorable animals were inside and safe, knowing that they could return to their real home when the storm passed.

Amscolie lives very closeby to the woods and regularly sees deer passing by, among other furry friends such as possums or squirrels.

She’s definitely an animal lover and will always make sure that these animals have everything they need.

Often, she’ll even take in baby deer who were separated from their mom to fully nurse them back to health.

Most of the deer in the area actually know the kind woman, and she’s even already received cuddles and kisses from them.

It’s absolutely heartwarming to know that there are people like her who care about local wildlife so much and are willing to spend their spare time helping them.

Amscolie has received quite a bit of internet attention thanks to her three temporary guests, and she hopes to inspire people to help out animals more often, especially wildlife.
