One of the joys of carrying a camera along with you wherever you go is that you don’t’ miss out on recording any precious memories whenever they occur. Sometimes, though, the camera can do even more than that.
It can be a lense of truth into our everyday reality, catching things so innocuous that even we don’t notice them until it’s put in a picture right in front of our faces. Sometimes these are moving, and sometimes they are absolutely hilarious.

1. Level Alien
Apparently, plain ol’ earthling horses are an acquired taste. This giant alien of an equine looks like he tried to gobble up another horse whole. Clearly, though, the taste was less than desirable.
2. The cold reality
Clearly, this is just a very well-timed shot of a man sitting behind a bus pole. But just like art, it reflects the true nature of our matrix-induced automaton-like existence.
3. Not lookin’ good
Timing and perception are a funny thing, and also sometimes dangerous. We’re sure this man has no sentimental ties to the dictator he so resembles, but with just a touch of Photoshop, this could be very, very bad optics for him. At least he’s also sporting a halo, right? He can’t be all that bad. Even still, best to go with a different mic next time.
4. The many faces of nature
Nature can be a funny and fickle thing. But, sometimes, when everything aligns just right, it all comes leaping into perspective. Sometimes, people can also help those stars align with photo-editing. The Redditor pulled a fast one on us with this.

Everyone loves a good book, but sometimes the storyline is so addicting that you become a little too in-tune with the characters. Sometimes, you might even appear to have become them. It’s called getting into character, just run with it.

Even Buddha statues have had enough of 2020. Better mind your P’s and Q’s because they’ve got their eyes on you.
7. The lense of truth
This couldn’t be a more fitting photo. This firefighter was working in the aftermath of the Mexico City earthquake that affected thousands of people. We knew they were heroes, but the camera caught the proof that they’re angels.
8. I’ll take that!
This seagull saw this man out on the beach feeding the birds and thought he’d return the favor. Not by giving him food, of course, but by stealing his hat so he can feel the wind in his hair. Hopefully it wasn’t cold out.
9. Speaking of wind
The timing of this photo is absolutely perfect. This painting in the back of the truck of the woman’s eyes is beautiful on its own. But when the wind kicked up and lifted the canvas to make it look like it was covering her actual hair gives it so much more emphasis.
10. Mommy’s Little Angel
This photo gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “Mommy’s Little Angel”. With the pigeon swooping down at just the right time, it even looks like he has a little set of baby wings. We’re sure this one will have a prominent place in the family photo album.

If you missed that epic solar eclipse everyone traveled the world to see a few years back, don’t worry. This athletic group figured out how to make their own with the bounce of a ball and a perfectly timed shot.
12. Oh, Gene…
When the band Kiss hit the scene with all of their freakish looks, moms went out of their minds thinking that they were the devil in the flesh. Little did they know that their frontman, Gene Simmons, was just deeply misunderstood. All he ever wanted was some ice cream. What’s the point of having such a ridiculously long tongue if you aren’t going to go for the triple-scoop once in a while.
13. Spirit Animal
Finding your spirit animal isn’t the drug-induced journey it once was. After all, we are sadly more tied to our tech than to our relationship with nature these days. But it’s good to know that if you can’t find a spirit guide to help you in your quest, you’re trusted iPhone will do.

When her friend asked her to take a trip to the beach so she could get some fresh sea air, she took her at her word for it. Little did she know that it was just an excuse to inhale her hair in this masterfully-timed shot.
