Most people say “life starts at 40”, well, I’d say life starts every day and that it is never too late for anyone to try something new.

This was exactly the case with a woman from Chicago named Debbie when she was about to become an official senior citizen. Before she even celebrated her 60th birthday, she had been contemplating whether or not to give her physical appearance a new flavor.

“I have always wanted to have a makeover but I had never found somebody who I thought could make me look my best,” Debbie said while trying to tell the reason why she was hesitant about doing it.

You are never too old to try something.

Debbie decided to stop herself from holding back, it was about time to turn her dream into reality. So, on her 60th birthday, she wanted to spoil herself and give her look a total makeover.

“I’m turning 60… This is the time I’m just gonna let my hair grow out and go completely great or I’m gonna get the courage to actually set up an appointment and follow through with it… and come to Minneapolis to get my makeover,” said Debbie.

She also shared that her husband couldn’t understand her utmost desire to give herself a makeover. It can’t be helped, women always want to look and feel beautiful. It empowers them and makes them more confident.

However, a person, especially a husband, must know that they are doing such efforts to look beautiful not because they want to impress the people around them. It’s called “self-love.”

And for Debbie to achieve the look that she wanted, she seek the expertise of none other than Minneapolis’ Christopher Jon Hopkins, also known as “The Makeover Guy.”

The Makeover Guy, Hopkins, is not just good but also considered a ‘fairy godmother’ by most of his clients. He is also an “entrepreneur, entertainer, cyber-star, author, and appearance aficionado.”

Believe it or not, Hopkins is also a baritone soloist and he has already performed with The Minnesota Orchestra, Hannover Radio Philharmonic, Erie Philharmonic, and the Grand Teton Music Festival.

But on top of his credentials are his unbelievable makeovers of people from all walks of life. His YouTube channel called ‘MAKEOVERGUY’ is filled with beautiful transformation videos of his clients and of them was Debbie.

“She came in with white regrowth and brown ends on very curly hair,” Hopkins said while trying to remember how Debbie looked like on their first meeting. “She said the magic words, ‘Do whatever you want,’ and so I did.”

Let the magic begin.

Giving yourself a makeover is like putting your fate in the hands of your chosen stylist, in Debbie’s case – she’s given Hopkins 100% of her trust. The Makeover Guy was in full control and the then soon-to-be senior was even okay with her stylist turning her hair into green or even purple.

Using his knowledge, expertise, and uncontested talent in beautification, Hopkins ended up giving Debbie’s look warm and spring-like colors. He turned the then dull-looking hair a new gorgeous look by turning it into strawberry blond with some highlight touches all over.
