Your body is conditioned to send you signals when something is wrong, and you should never ignore those signs. Even if you think it’s nothing, you should still be proactive and find out for sure what is going on. Ignoring your body’s warnings can be very dangerous. In some cases, they can be deadly.

Luckily for one woman, she acted on those warning signs before it was too late.

Edie Marie was working from home one day when she says she began to feel an uncomfortable pain in her chest.

At first, she ignored the pain that was coming from under her left breast. She simply thought it was indigestion or from the underwire of her bra.

It wasn’t until the pain spread to her jaw that Edie Marie finally realized that something was seriously wrong.

When she finally made it to the ER, she learned that her pain was something way more than indigestion. Edie Marie was suffering from a heart attack.

Edie Marie admits that a heart attack never even crossed her mind.

“It didn’t even come through my mind,” she said.

She was still having the attack when she arrived at the hospital. It was caused by a rare tearing in the wall of the coronary artery. Doctors were able to treat the attack with medication.

Now, Edie Marie has to monitor her blood pressure and cholesterol. She also has to reduce her stress, which very well could have been a trigger for her heart attack.

We’re just glad Edie Marie was able to get to a hospital before things got much worse.
