When people hit their forties the world seems to think that they have to have all of life figured out. While some may be wiser and smarter with age, that’s not necessarily the case for everyone.

There’s an unspoken rule that we should feel comfortable in our skin, wise enough to give advise, and completely happy after so many decades of life experience.

Loving yourself

If you are completely content in your mid-life, good for you! But it certainly isn’t true for all of us.

Meet Wendy

Take Wendy, for instance. She recently found out that she had a half-sister she never knew about – proof that life never really gets “normal” no matter how many years you’ve lived for.

Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, Wendy shared her story on her visit to The Makeover Guy, where she was hoping a hair transformation would make her feel more confident in her appearance.

The man behind the fabulous makeovers

There’s no better man to turn to than Christopher Hopkins, aka The Makeover Guy, for the job.

Christopher is incredibly well-known in the beauty industry, having made TV appearances and showcased his makeovers to the world.

Not only is he famous for helping older women to look and feel their most beautiful, but he’s also a talented singer. His website says it best:

“Since 1990 Christopher has been applauded for his dramatic television makeovers and has received standing ovations with the world’s finest orchestras singing Broadway best baritone showstoppers.”

Christopher spends most of his time in his Makeover Studios, which is where the transformative magic happens.

Ready to make a big change

And while Wendy hasn’t completely lost her way like some of Christopher’s clients, she’s still ready for a big change.

Speaking on-camera before her makeover, Wendy says that she’s been growing her hair out “just for fun”, but it’s time for a much-needed haircut.

She adds:

“I want my hairstyle to be more flattering. This is longer than I usually wear it.”

All makeovers come easily to Christopher, who can decide how to transform his clients with just one look. But he definitely has it easy with Wendy!

She’s a natural beauty, for sure, and her hair is a beautiful tone of grey – though it is looking a bit tired.

When it comes to cuts and styles, Wendy is happy for Christopher to do his thing, with one exception:

“I don’t like the dutch boy look. I wanted to find someone that cuts bangs well.”

We can see why Wendy decided to come to The Makeover Guy for help. If you’ve seen any of his videos already, you’ll know that when it comes to haircuts, no one leaves his studios without the very best.

And one look at Wendy’s own transformation has us sold: Christoper Hopkins has done it again!

“It’s amazing that it can be full right here, because usually it’s flat. It wasn’t straight as a string like I thought, and it has some body in it.”

Not only has Wendy’s hair been transformed into a bouncy bob, but she’s also had a makeover thrown in, too.

Her YouTube fans liken her to actress Heather Locklear and the infamous Joan Rivers, and we can totally see it.

But what does Wendy think about her makeup?

“I feel pretty, for sure, but I don’t feel totally natural.”

It probably takes some getting used to if you’re not the sort who wears makeup on a daily basis, but we think she looks great!
