In an amazing act of heroism, 17 year old Jordan Litowchak dove into action when he saw a car that had veered off into a local pond in Clearwater, Florida.
As Jordan and his mother were driving by the pond, he noticed some splashing and asked his mother to pull to the side.
As he got closer, he noticed a car was already halfway in the pond and there was a driver stuck in the water.
Jordan immediately dove into the pond and went to the stranger’s aid as he swam to the car.
As he got to the driver’s side, he noticed an old man was struggling to get free, so he grabbed him and put him on his back before swimming back to land.
“I had some adrenaline going, but it was just I had to save this man. He was very emotional and crying and very thankful,” Jordan told reporters.
Noticing the commotion, a hospice nurse who was passing by stopped her car and assisted the 71 year old until the police and paramedics arrived to the scene.
“I mean, of course, I’m grateful I could be here, but I don’t want like anything. He doesn’t need to thank me or anything. It’s just a good thing to do, and I’m glad I could do that for him,” Jordan said in response to the publicity the event has been getting ever since he heroically saved the man in danger.
The driver, Daniel Vinovich, was experiencing severe back spasms as he was driving past the pond, causing him to lose control of his car right before it rolled into the water.
Lucky for Daniel, Jordan happened to be passing by and was willing to do whatever he could to help him as he struggled to get out of the immersed vehicle.
Daniel was mostly unharmed from the incident, but was shaken up from experiencing such a terrifying situation.
Moments like this are the perfect example of how amazing people can be sometimes. Without hesitation, Jordan jumped into a dangerous situation in order to help somebody in danger, and he is truly a hero for doing so.
