Jason Brown was a powerhouse football player signed to the St. Louis Rams in 2009 for a whopping 37.5 million dollar contract.
His massive contract payout actually made him the highest paid NFL center in the league!
After playing in the NFL for five years, Brown decided to leave the sport and spend his time to farm and help feed the hungry.
Having earned 25 million from his contract, Brown purchased 1,000 acres of land in Louisburg, North Carolina to pursue the life of a farmer.
Having learned how to grow crops from YouTube videos, Brown immersed himself into the farming world leaving football in the dust.
“My agent, he told me, ‘You’re making the biggest mistake of your life,’ and I looked right back at him and I said, no I am not,” Brown told CBS reporters.
Spending his time and space to grow sweet potatoes and other vegetables, Brown donates the yield from his harvests to local pantries that can get the food into the hands of the people who need it the most.
So far, Brown has donated a whopping 10,000 pounds of cucumbers and an even more incredible 46,000 pounds of sweet potatoes this past fall season.
“When you see them pop up out of the ground, man it’s the most beautiful thing you could ever see,” Brown said.
This incredible story is truly a testament for doing whatever makes you the happiest and most fulfilled.
Despite having plenty of life left as a star football player, Brown gave up making more money and gaining more fame so he could pass on what he already has to those who have little.
