As we all know, mother nature can definitely work in some mysterious ways sometimes. Animal friendships are one of the most precious things there are, and sometimes they’re even more beautiful when they’re completely unexpected. For example, dogs and cats getting along are always adorable, but this special animal pair is certainly even more special.
Miki the lion and Camila the dog are two very different animals, but they’re most definitely the best of friends.
You’d think that these two animal species simply couldn’t get along. After all, lions are quite predatory in their nature and are perhaps one of the fiercest animals out there. When we take a look at Camila the dog, she certainly isn’t a tiny four-footer by any means, but definitely not as big as her friend. In most cases, the dog would simply be considered as prey to the fierce lion.
Luckily, there are always exceptions, and the beautiful friendship between Miki and Camila perfectly illustrates that.
These two have been living together practically all their lives at a sanctuary, and seeing them together is just absolutely adorable. The employees of the sanctuary even take a lot of pictures and videos of the pair and share them online, so the rest of the world can witness their cuteness.
In this recent video, we can see that Miki is behaving quite gentlemanly and wants to grab Camilla’s paw to blow her a kiss.
However, as you can see in the footage, it seems like Camilla isn’t interested in the moment, and doesn’t want any affection. Miki tries to get her attention and her paw again, but the dog simply turns around and walks away.
Miki was clearly feeling a bit sad that she ignored him, and felt like he needed to say sorry to his best bud.
We can see how Miki runs after the pooch, with his tail stuck between his legs. The way he asks for forgiveness is so adorable and precious at the same time!
The short clip was uploaded to YouTube and immediately went viral just under 37 million views!
The internet clearly loves these two, and it’s not hard to understand why. The two actually have had a long history and were brought in together at the Black Jaguar – White Tiger Foundation in Mexico City. Apparently, Miki and Camilla were friends long before they were rescued, and they’re inseparable. That’s not an exaggeration, by the way, as the shelter staff quickly discovered.
“[Miki and Camilla] have been together all their lives, way before we rescued them. And if they’re not together, they get super nervous.”
It’s unclear just how these two met and became best friends, but it’s evident that these two will always be there for each other.
The video was posted online by one of the sanctuary’s visitors, who goes by Toyquest101 on YouTube.
“An amazing bond between two friends since they were young. A mighty white lion and chocolate lab. Watch as the lion goes and kisses the dogs paw,” the video caption reads.
The video is definitely a bit too short, and a lot of people wish to see what happened after Miki decided to run after his friend and ask for forgiveness.
It looks like we’re going to need to use our imagination instead!
