One of the things that we have in common with our ancestors is cosmetics. The earliest society that made use of makeup are ancient Egyptians, in which both men and women were known to wear makeup from natural resources.

In recent years, makeup has undeniably gained popularity especially when tutorials were uploaded online.

With the recent growth in social media usage, bloggers, influencers, and makeup artists post very interesting tutorials and of course – makeovers.

Tori Ross is one of the most popular influencers around, creating makeup tutorials and other social media content since 2015.

In one of her tutorial videos, she gave her adorable grandma Disney princess makeover.

The video was short but it was hilarious. In the first few minutes, Tori was trying to introduce her grandma but she wasn’t having any of it. She kept smiling though.

First, she used concealer on her grandma’s face before drawing her eyebrows. Then Tori painted her granny’s eyelids red eyeshadow with a glimmer of course.

She really knows how to use makeup!

Then Tori prepped her grandma’s face to add some contour – which we all know makes anyone chiseled and fresh-faced. Ideally, you sweep bronzer in the parts of your face that you would like to define, which could be along your hairline, cheekbones, the sides of your nose, and the jawline.

And of course, contouring isn’t complete with a sweep of blush and highlighter. In this video, she applied red blush to make her grandma’s cheeks look more defined.

After applying contour on her grandma’s nose, Tori then applied red lipstick on her lips which finally finishes off the Disney princess look.

Her grandma looks so happy!

Even with the rise of cosmetics, it’s a bit odd that there’s a stigma when it comes to older women wearing more makeup than lipstick or blush. All it needs is just a few adjustments but a woman at any age can make good use of makeup if she wants to.

When it comes to base makeup, older women can take advantage of hydrating and dewy makeup bases, to make their skin more refreshed and youthful. Just like what Tori did, women with mature skin can still use contour and blush which definitely made her grandma look more radiant.

As for the eyes, matte eyeshadow would look better since the eyelids are one of the first to show wrinkles. Of course, mascara may be used and finish off the eye look by filling up the brows.

The older we get, the thinner our lips become so adding some definition or volume to the lips makes a huge difference. Elder women usually opt to use brown or nude shades but adding a pop of color would make anyone look younger.
