The birth of a little one in the family is always one of those days that a lot of people will remember forever. It’s a moment that’s etched into the minds of parents, and it’s also something that grandparents massively look forward to.
Some couples decide to be a little bit mysterious when it comes to their pregnancy – is it a boy or a girl, if there’s already a name… Things like these can leave the rest of the family in complete suspense, but these soon-to-be parents decided to hide something a little bit more serious than just the gender or name when they announced they were expecting.
Anna Brooks and her husband were in for quite a surprise when doctors told them they had twins on the way.
They decided not to tell anyone about the special news they received. Of course, after a while, the baby belly starts to show up and there’s no point in hiding it anymore – Anna was expecting and Anna’s mom was absolutely elated.
She’d finally get to be a grandmother and couldn’t wait to see and hold her grandson or granddaughter in her arms.
Little did she know that there would be two little ones running around instead of just one.
They decided they would just wait with the announcement until the time was right – and the time was finally right after their first child was born.
When Anna’s mom arrived at the hospital, they decided to film her reaction when she’d see the second baby.
It’s an absolutely shocking moment, but one that’s just extremely touching and hilarious too.
Anna’s mom was absolutely thrilled to go to the hospital so she could finally meet her grandchild for the very first time. At the beginning of the video, we see Anna in her hospital bed with her newborn baby girl.
She hands the girl to grandma, who is absolutely in love with the little one.
Grandma can’t keep her eyes off her granddaughter, and she doesn’t even notice it when a nurse enters the room with another cart.
She leaves the cart at the end of the bed, and grandma still doesn’t have a clue that her second grandchild is in the other cart.
Anna then tried to get her mom’s attention:
“There’s a Santa delivery too,” she said with a smile. (They were born during the holidays- hence the Santa reference.)
Anna’s mother can’t believe her eyes.
When she finally realizes what was going on, she burst into tears and became very emotional. To her, this was a miracle!
“How did you keep that a secret?” she quickly wonders.
The new dad then puts the second baby girl right in grandma’s arms as she holds both of them for the very first time. She obviously can’t believe what was happening and couldn’t be happier that she gets to have two grandchildren now instead of one.
Of course, they also needed to bring the news to granddad, who couldn’t make it to the hospital.
When they FaceTimed together, Anna showed her dad only one of her two babies, and he’s completely in shock when he discovers he has another grandchild.
