“Invest in your hair. It’s the crown you never take off.” – Unknown
Your hair will tell so much about you.
It is, after all, our crowning glory. Your hair can tell a lot about your personality.
No wonder we invest so much time, money, and effort in making sure that our hair is healthy and beautiful.
Of course, we can’t forget about hairstyles, right?
Women can spend hours preparing their hair, and that doesn’t include the time for make-up – just a heads up for all you guys out there.
Now, one of the classic hairstyles that we all love is called the French twist or the French bun.
The basic rule is to gather all the hair using one hand and then twist it upwards. You stop when it turns in on itself, and you feel it against your head.
Then, just secure it with hair sticks, fancy hair combs, or even plain hairpins.
It was first popularized in the late 1950s, but until today, it’s still one of the top hairstyles being requested.
French buns are a favorite hairstyle choice for weddings, dates, and even proms.
Of course, to make this hairstyle more elegant, you’d want to use bumpit hairpins, regular hairpins, and those dazzling rhinestone-studded hairpieces that complete the look.
If you love this hairstyle, then you would be thrilled to know that we’ve found an elegant, easy, and beautiful ‘twist’ to the usual French bun.
We don’t want to keep you waiting, so here is that step-by-step procedure.
You’ll need:
One hair bun donut
Black hair ties
Comb
Hairpins
Pearl or flower hairpins
Hairspray (optional)
Steps in achieving that sophisticated look.
1) Tie your hair in three sections. Then, get your hair bun donut and divide it into three sections, securing them using hairties.
2) Insert the first hair tie to the first hole of the hair bun, follow the pattern, and you’ve got the signature hair bump.
3) Comb the hair sideways and then secure the three-section bun with another hair tie. You can use hairpins to make sure that the hair tie will be secured into place.
4) Use 3/4 of the hair and cover the hair bun. Tie the ends of the hair and tuck it in the bun. Make sure you comb it so it would look neat. You can also use hair spray to keep all the tiny hairs hidden.
5) Now, you can see a beautiful and neat bun. We still have remaining hair to work on.
6) Part it three ways. Use the first one and braid it. After that, you create a flower by rolling the braided hair and then securing it with hairpins. Repeat.
What’s nice is that you can use many hair accessories to achieve different looks.
Perfect for prom or your wedding.
One idea is to have a matching hairdo with your bridesmaid or friends. Then you can just choose different hair accessories to make it more personal and unique.
