Foot Bath Recipes To Rid Your Body Of Toxins

We use our upper bodies so much on a daily basis…our arms and hands are non-stop. But, do you ever stop to think how much we also use our feet? They get us up, get us around, we run on them, walk on them, they are always on duty. And no matter whether you’re wearing shoes, socks, or nothing on them, they’re the biggest gateways for germs/toxins to enter our bodies. Bacteria accumulates while we wear socks, as our feet sweat. When wearing open shoes with no socks, you’re collecting pollution, dirt, and other bacteria as you walk. If barefoot outside or indoors, you’re basically a home with wide open doors for toxins. This is why it’s a great idea to take time every now and then to detox your feet, through foot baths/foot soaks.

The use of natural everyday products, essential oils, minerals, herbs, plants, and food in a foot bath, can target various toxins in your body, and draw them out. This will restore your body if done regularly, and help you feel rejuvenated, and more energetic after each use. According to Going Evergreen, as you soak your feet your whole body tends to get rid of its tiredness quickly since there are active nerve endings under your feet that quickly pick up stimuli. Your feet also have a lot of pores, which helps you soak up the detoxing ingredients and properties faster than anywhere else on your body when soaking your feet.

Dissolve Sea Salt or Himalayan Salt, Epsom salt, and baking soda in boiling hot water in a quart size jar, then set aside. Fill foot tub (you can find this at any beauty supply store), with warm/hot water, and add apple cider vinegar. Pour salt mixture in and add essential oils if you’d like.

Soak your feet in the bath for 30 minutes at least. Note that with any detox bath, you may feel tired or lightheaded when you get out. Therefore, don’t do it if you’re home alone or before going somewhere, just in case you get too tired or need help.

This bath is good for skin irritations, boosting magnesium levels and overall detoxing.

Clay Detox Bath Recipe

Fill the foot tub with Epsom salts, sand dissolve. Add essential oils if desired. For the clay there are two options:

  1. Vigorously mix the clay into a small amount of water until the clumps are mostly dissolved. Don’t use a metal bowl/container for this. You can mix with a plastic spoon in a glass jar. Add the clay mix to the bath and soak for at least 20 minutes.
  2. Mix the clay with a small amount of water to make a paste. Stand in the foot tub full of water, and rub the clay mix all over the body to create a skin mask, let dry for 5 minutes before sitting down. This provides direct contact with the skin and effectively pulls toxins from the skin. Soak in the bath at least 20 minutes or as long as desired. While soaking, use a washcloth to scrub any remaining clay off the skin.

This bath is great for removing a lot of toxins as the clay binds to heavy metals and the Epsom salts help pull a variety of toxins from the body while replenishing magnesium levels.

Fill the foot tub with warm/hot water and add the hydrogen peroxide and dried Ginger. Soak feet in the tub for at least 30 minutes, or as long as you’d like. This bath is ideal during illnesses. ● ½ cup rice
● Water
● 3 tbsp of baking soda

Boil rice in sufficient water to have around 2-3 cups of rice water left by the time the rice is done. ● Take enough water in a large pan or a bucket to soak your feet
● 3-4 drops of peppermint essential oil
● A single drop of eucalyptus essential oil
● A single drop of lemon essential oil
