More people would likely choose to live in a tiny home if they didn’t have to give up all the comforts and amenities that full-sized homes carry with them.
The creators of The Flex House had this in mind when they created a unique 760-square-foot tiny home.
Green Builder Media and Shelter Dynamics built the Flex House.
The home is designed with conservation and green-living in mind, as most tiny homes are. What makes the Flex House different, however, is that it doesn’t get rid of all the features that allow homeowners to be comfortable.
“We live big here in America, but at the same time there’s a growing awareness about resource conservation. What I like about the Flex House is we’re not asking people to sacrifice. We’re just asking people to not use any more room than they need,” said Green Builder Media CEO Sara Gutterman, according to their website.
The first noticeable difference between the Flex House and other tiny homes is the size of it.
Most Tiny Homes are between 200 to 400 square feet. The Flex House is nearly double that, however.
The added space allows for there to be full-sized rooms in the home. The kitchen is similar to what you would expect of a normal, full-sized home.
There is a stainless steel refrigerator in the Flex House. Other appliances include an oven and stove and even a washer and dryer.
A cozy dining area can seat multiple people.
Even small dinner parties can take place here! There is also a living room in the Flex House. There is enough room to stretch out and relax, spend time with others, and enjoy life. There is also a second living area available.
There is one bathroom in the Flex House. It comes equipped with a full shower and toilet.
Outside the bathroom, there is a sink area with a mirror.
There is even a stackable washer and dryer in this tiny home. The master bedroom has a good-sized bed and space for clothing as well.
The second living area can be used as another bedroom for guests, office space, or if you are creative, you can even use it as a gym!
The Flex House is aesthetically pleasing as well. It has beautiful arched doorways, rounded corners, and high ceilings. It’s U-shaped layout also creates a unique feel. Even with all the extra space, this is still an eco-friendly home.
It runs entirely off of its own generated power.
Solar panels and battery storage allow this tiny home to go off-the-grid. The Flex House is also built to save water and be able to withstand the worst kinds of weather.
The home is built with sustainable materials. It runs on smart devices to make sure water and energy are being conserved efficiently. The company advertises that the Flex Home is for “right-sized” living.
One unit costs between $85,000 and $110,000.
