Imagine being able to eat your favorite foods and indulge in alcohol while getting healthier? Sounds too good to be true right? Well, the F-Factor Diet says it isn’t.
The F-Factor diet was conceived by registered dietician Tanya Zuckerbrot.
“F-Factor is more than just a diet to help you lose weight and become healthier,” the F-Factor Diet website reads. “It allows you to have a joyful, sustainable and healthy lifestyle, not a lifestyle based on deprivation and hunger, to help you become your best ‘you.'”
According to Fox 5, the F-Factor Diet encourages you to eat carbs, dine out, drink alcohol, and exercise less. Sign me up!
Zuckerbrot created the diet to help her patients who wanted to lower their cholesterol and control their diabetes without going hungry or having to alter their lifestyle greatly.
The key to the F-Factor diet is eating foods and carbs that are high in fiber.
“Diet fads come and go; but the F-Factor approach is based on a scientific understanding of anatomy and physiology, resulting in 4 disruptive principles that don’t change with the tides of dieting,” the website states.
Here are those four principles:
- Eating the right kind of carbs will rev-up your metabolism
- You don’t have to be scared of dining out. You’ll always be able to order something off of the menu when you’re on the F-Factor diet
- You also don’t have to avoid alcohol… and thus fun
- The F-Factors breakfast will help you burn more calories than a 45-minute run
The key to the F-Factor diet is combining lean proteins and high-fiber carbohydrates.
These foods tend to be lower in carbohydrates and help you feel full throughout the day. So, you’re never hungry or feeling deprived while on the diet. Eating a high fiber diet also has lots of other benefits, according to the F-Factor Diet’s website.
Among them are:
- Lowering cholesterol to 30%
- Stabilizing blood sugar
- Reducing hypertension
- Reducing the risk factors for colon cancer and breast cancer
- Improving serum glucose levels in diabetics and prediabetics
- Alleviating constipation and promoting regularity
- Promoting weight loss and management
- Banishing bloat
- Enabling clearer complexion
- Improving energy all day long
- Improving sleeping habits
- Enhancing exercise performance and results
- Improving quality of sex life
- Increasing chances for longevity
In terms of exercise, the F-Factor diet recommends focusing on strength training rather than cardio. You can learn more about how the F-Factor diet works in the video below.
