If there’s one thing that will add an endless supply of smiles and laughter in the house, it has got to be a pet.
Dogs, in particular, can really make your hearts melt when they make all kinds of adorable faces.
For example, a dog receiving a delicious treat, no matter how tiny, will always be such a cute and precious thing to witness.
This dog always has a hilariously adorable reaction when he gets a treat, and when he gets a second treat- he always bears a look of ecstatic shock.
Meet Norbert, an adorable 11-year-old mixed breed pooch.
He’s pretty tiny, weighing in at 3 pounds and only being about 7 inches tall. It’s hard not to fall in love with Norbert the second you see him!
Norbert was actually rescued by his owner Julie, all the way back in 2009.
The woman wanted to find a four-footer partner that would fit her lifestyle and personality. When she met tiny Norbert for the very first time, she just knew that this pooch was the one for her.
The woman didn’t learn a lot about Norbert’s past, although she’s been told that he’s a mix of a Yorkshire Terrier and a Chihuahua.
What is absolutely certain, however, is that this pooch is one cute furball.
Surprisingly, vets actually surprised her just a couple of weeks after she adopted Norbert.
You see, this adorable pup needed a lot of special care and attention because of his extremely small size.
This wasn’t your average dog, but Julie didn’t seem to mind at all. No matter what Norbert needed, his kind owner is always there for him.
A couple of weeks after Julie first welcomed Norbert into her home, she was surprised by a DNA test.
Even though she was told that he’s a Yorkshire Terrier mix, it turns out that there are zero traces of that breed in his DNA.
Luckily, the test was able to confirm that he was likely part Chihuahua and part Poodle, although it didn’t really matter.
After all, Norbert was special in his own kind of way, and Julie was just curious.
Norbert is unique in more ways than one- he’s actually a therapy dog, too.
One day, someone at a store told Julie that the adorable little Norbert would make an excellent therapy dog. The comment by the stranger definitely kept lingering in her head, and she started researching what therapy dogs actually do.
After spending some time in books and on the internet, Julie decided to train Norbert to become a therapy dog herself.
The tiny pooch is a frequent visitor at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles and helps kids in their recovery process.
Another special thing about Norbert? He’s internet famous!
A couple of years ago, he went viral on YouTube when Julie filmed his reaction to getting an extra treat.
Over three million viewers couldn’t get enough of this loveable furball!
The video starts with the pooch impatiently waiting for his treat, clearly trying to contain his excitement.
After a couple of seconds of suspense, he finally gets his treat and has a content smile on his face. He figured that this was the last treat he’d get that day, but then Julie surprised him.
Julie brought a second treat, and the reaction when he sees it is ridiculously adorable!
He’s clearly flabbergasted and shocked at the thought that he’ll get a second treat.
Just look at that absolutely heart-melting reaction!
His tongue’s out a little bit, but as the very good boy that he is, he doesn’t move an inch until he’s allowed to take it. And when he does – that second treat is gone in an instant!
It was clear that this pooch stole the hearts of many viewers on the internet.
“When you find that extra fry in the bottom of the fast food bad,” someone said about Norbert’s reaction.
“This creature is many things, but ‘dog’ is not one of them. This is a stuffed animal given life. Probably hamster,” another commented.
This cute pooch will definitely make your day a little bit better!
