Rustico Samson Jr. is the proud owner of the adorable and affectionate pup Coco, but Rustico and his family had been going through a nightmare for over three months.
One day, their beloved four-footer went missing. They believe that Coco tried to explore the area outside of the home, but then got lost and didnโt know where to return to.
The family from the Philippines looked for him every single day but to no avail.
Coco disappeared without a trace, and with every passing day, their hopes of finding him back kept shrinking.
To the Samsons, Coco was a part of the family.
โI cried. There was so much sorrow, so much pain,โ Rustico said to The Dodo. โCoco is more than a pet. Heโs family.โ
Even though the chances of finding him were extremely slim at this point, Rustico never stopped looking for his trusted and beloved four-footer. He investigated the entire city, scoured every inch, and would do anything to get his best friend back.
โI searched every corner,โ Rustico mentioned. โI even cried as I searched.โ
Luckily, Rustico was able to enlist the help of friends, family, and even complete strangers. He built his own network, asking people to always keep a close eye on their surroundings and be on the lookout for a dog that looked like Coco.
Hope was never truly lost, and thatโs why Rustico kept on looking. After three months, his persistence, and many many hours and days of searching, finally paid off.
About three months later, someone spotted a stray dog in a parking garage who perfectly matched the description of Coco.
Of course, Rustico went to the parking garage as soon as he heard the news, and he couldnโt believe his eyes when he saw the stray pooch resting on the floor.
โRight at that moment, when I saw a dog lying on the floor of that parking garage, I knew it was him,โ he said. โI was a thousand times sure that it was Coco.โ
The very next seconds were incredibly heartfelt, emotional, overwhelming and most of all, relieving.
โI was overwhelmed. I was so happy,โ the man said. โI think Coco felt the same way at that moment. You could hear him crying like a baby.โ
โThank you Lordโ, he added.
Rustico is shouting in his native tongue and canโt believe what was going on. Even more touching, however, is the reaction of Coco.
The poor dog is clearly overwhelmed with emotions too, and couldnโt stop crying when he finally saw his owner again after three very long months.
Coco didnโt exactly look the same as he did all those months ago, as living on the streets as a stray mustโve been very hard. Coco was dirty and also severely malnourished, but he didnโt seem critical or severely injured.
After spending a few days back at the family home, Coco was already doing much better.
โThe house is full of positive auras again,โ Cocoโs owner said. โGood vibes are back.โ
Rustico is so glad that he never gave up looking, and he says that he never wouldโve.
โWhen it comes to having a pet, it doesnโt matter if youโre rich or poor, as long as you have heart and love to them like family,โ the young man concluded. โWhen someone in your family is lost, you never give up.โ
