Optical illusions will definitely trick your brain and make you see things that aren’t there, and they’re always fun to just look at for a couple of minutes. Even though some of them are still unbelievable to adults, these optical illusions are always quite popular with children.
Optical illusions have been around for a very long time, and they come in all sorts of varieties and formats.
Have you ever tried to do optical illusions when you were younger? There don’t seem to be any particular optical illusion books aimed towards children, even though there seems to be a kids’ version of a book for just about everything.
Of course, you can just use the infinite source of the internet to get your fix of optical illusions, but there’s just something charming about traditional paper and pages.
Luckily, there are still some books out there where the concept of an optical illusion is explored, sometimes even with an explanation. A perfect example is the type of books that are filled with all sorts of psychedelic images, and you actually have to squint your eyes a little bit to see what the hidden message or image is.
Or, what about the images that seem to be moving, like the one above? Sometimes, you’ll also need attributes to uncover the mystery of the optical illusion, like those classic red and cyan 3D glasses, for example.
In other cases, the ‘answer’ to an optical illusion is hidden in plain sight, just like with this example over here that has recently made rounds on the internet.
The optical illusion shows a drawing of an elderly man wearing a hat – or at least, that what it looks like at a first glance.
Look closely, and you’ll see that there’s actually an animal hiding somewhere in the drawing.
If you haven’t spotted it yet, you definitely don’t have to worry about it, because you’re not alone! Apparently, this is one of the tougher optical illusions out there, and it’s estimated that only one percent of the people who view this can figure it out quickly.
When you still don’t see where the animal is hiding, it may be useful to check out the old man’s face more in-depth. Are the details wrong, or perhaps there are some things that are missing?
In case you’re still stuck, here are a few clues.
We’re not going to give the whole thing away just yet, but a great tip is to check out some of the details that seem rather unusual. For example, a quick glance at his nose, and you can’t help but notice that it looks a little bit funny.
The same thing applies to the man’s eyes, which aren’t shaped as they should be.
And what about the ears? The right ear is completely out of view, while the left one looks very odd – notice at all those lines.
When you turn the picture around, the animal is finally revealed.
Gone is the drawing of the old man, rotating it by 180 degrees shows a picture of a bone-loving dog on the carpet.
In case you saw this one right away, props to you! Only people who are really observant can spot this optical illusion right away. If there’s one thing that this illusion shows, it’s that perspective is important.
