When we’re sick, all want to crawl into our beds and stay there until we feel better, but as we all know, life must go on.

Thankfully, there are three super easy DIY hacks that will help you feel better in no time. These will help ease your cold and flu symptoms so you can go about your day. Sooth your annoying cough

Coughing might be one of the worst symptoms of a cold. You can’t control it, it hurts your throat, and coughing fits always seem to show up at the worst moments. Here’s an easy and natural way to nip that cough in the bud.

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, 1/4 cup honey, and 3 tablespoons of lemon juice in a pot. Stir until combined.
  • Pour the mixture into a glass jar and place in the refrigerator.
  • Drink one or two spoonfuls to alleviate your cough and throat irritation.

Stuffy noses and sinus pressure are two of the most miserable things you experience while you’re sick. You can’t taste anything, and the constant sniffles and nose-blowing are super frustrating. Get some relief with this simple steam shower DIY hack.

  • In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of baking soda, 1 cup of citric acid, and 1 teaspoon of eucalyptus oil.
  • After mixing, spritz the ingredients with witch hazel.
  • Shape the mixture into molds (pick a fun shape!) then let dry for 24 hours.
  • Next time you’re in the shower, place a mold on the shower floor and enjoy the decongestion relief.

Ease body aches with a homemade heating pad

Body aches and stiffness are the tell-tale sign that you have the flu. It’s hard to move, and it’s hard to get motivated to do anything but stay on the couch. Help ease the pain of sore muscles with this incredibly easy homemade heating pad.

  • Place a clean sock inside an empty, clean mason jar. Use a funnel to fill the sock with rice and tie it off.
  • Microwave the sock for one minute. Make sure there is a glass of water in the microwave with the sock to prevent the rice from burning.
  • Use the heat pack to soothe sore and achy muscles.
