We’ve all watched the famous scene in the movie “Big” where the legendary actor, Tom Hanks, plays the massive piano in the toy store, right? Tons of people have tried to re-create it and put out funny videos that we can all appreciate.

The original video is the best though, and Tom Hanks clearly has a thing for the scene.

In the original scene, Hanks’s character is explaining the new idea he has to a toy store company executive. He then has some fun on the piano and shows off why he really is a kid stuck in an adult’s body.

Who better to re-create the iconic moment than Hanks himself?

Since Hanks performed the original scene, it makes sense that he would be quite good at it again. That’s exactly what happened on the Jonathan Ross show when the scene was re-made a couple of years ago.

Ross invited some guests onto the show and he wanted to surprise them.

Ross points to the floor while he’s talking to Tom, and everyone quickly realizes what’s about to happen. Just like an optical illusion, something is hidden under the mat on the floor, and when Tom sees it, he just laughs.

When the carpet comes up, we see what Ross is planning.

When they remove the fake floor, a gigantic piano emerges from the floor. The audience realizes what Ross is doing and everyone cheers. They can’t wait to see Hanks re-create the scene.

Next thing you know, Jonathan Ross and Tom Hanks are on the piano and ready to go.

Since the movie was released in 1988, Hanks probably had all of the memories flooding back into his mind. He steps on the notes and instantly attempts a song.

Keeping to the script, Hanks begins with “Heart and Soul”

Everyone knows this classic tune and many iconic duos have played it together in all sorts of venues. In that specific film, Tom did a great job playing the tune. But it looks as though he might be a little out of practice and struggles a bit this time around. Come on Tom! It’s only been 25 years.

Tom is clearly struggling and it looks as though he needs a break!

Even being able to remember the tune to the song is impressive. He did a great job, and the audience gave a hearty chuckle when he messed up the notes. Either way, this feat is extra impressive.

Jonathan wants to attempt something else, and the two try chopsticks.

This one is much easier than the last selection and they do a great job of staying together. They hit all of the notes that they need to and it looks like a very solid performance.

But then, Sandra Bullock steps up to the plate…

Bullock promises the audience that she can perform even while she’s wearing her high-heeled shoes. The famous duo starts playing the song, they are obviously crushing it. But when they get to the last one, Sandra doesn’t want to stretch anymore.

She laughs and says “I’m not hitting that last one!” We’re glad she didn’t. It wouldn’t have been good for her, and if you watch the video you will understand why!
