Let’s face it – we don’t really like it when somebody says ‘no’ to us, and we’re thinking of situations where children ask their mom and dad for just one extra candy, for example.
However, it turns out that not only kids can’t handle it when someone says ‘no’ – dogs will throw a tantrum over it as well.
Some four-footers manage to find a way to protest to their owners when they don’t really get what they want, just like this hilarious and adorable bulldog.
Meet Reuben the Bulldog, who desperately wanted to have a couple of more pets and cuddles from his owner.
Of course, which owner could resist giving this adorable pooch some pets, especially when he’s asking for it? Well, it appears this owner wasn’t able to pet Reuben at this time for a very simple reason – the man was sleeping.
When this dog entered the room, he expected to be met with tons of cuddles and kisses from his owner, but certainly didn’t expect him to be taking a nap!
However, the adorable bulldog wasn’t about to give up just yet.
He wanted to get some attention at any and all costs.
It took some time and a lot of persistence, but this dog finally got what he came for in the end.
Luckily, the adorable moments were captured for all of us to see and shared on YouTube.
“Reuben the Bulldog’s family was told when they got him that he would require large amounts of love and attention. How true this turned out to be!” Reuben’s owner wrote in the video description.
With over five million views on the platform, this adorable footage between this bulldog and his owner has captured the hearts of the internet.
The family actually has a few dogs running around in the home, but Reuben is the first and is used to having all the attention inside.
Whenever he feels like his attention is threatened, he’ll throw hilarious tantrums like these.
We can see how it all unfolds, and it starts with Reuben’s owner who’s simply trying to catch some sleep on the couch.
His four-footer friend enters the room looking for some love, and when he realizes that his owner is asleep, he makes some grunting sounds just to wake him up.
Well, at least he didn’t bark.
However, because his owner didn’t really react to the subtle grunting, Reuben had to take it one step further.
What works better than grunting? Jumping on top of his owner and giving some licks, of course!
“He just sprayed me in the face with cheese-smelling mucous,” Reuben’s owner said.
It’s a bold tactic, but definitely, one that paid off!
The whole video becomes even funnier when the owner starts commenting on his dog’s actions, and even his funky-smelling breath.
It’s definitely explicit, but it’s also something we can’t know as a viewer – so he made sure to do some color commentary to provide extra context. It also explains why he isn’t too eager to return all the kisses.
Reuben wants to jump onto the couch, but he knows he’s not allowed!
When the bulldog finally got the message, he ran towards his own bed in disappointment.
“Look at that. How novel! He is actually using his bed for once. Although, he is not happy about it,” the man said with a laugh.
Reuben listened this time, but it didn’t take long before he started protesting again.
“He would much rather be laying on top of me, but sometimes I need a break because I can’t always have a dog on top of me every time that I lay down. So now he’s mad.”
Saying ‘no’ isn’t always easy, but this man has no other choice. After all, if he would always let Reuben do his thing, the poor guy would never be able to sleep!
“I don’t think this is going to last, right Reuben?” the man says.
You can just tell that Reuben wants to jump onto the couch along with his owner and doesn’t like being said ‘no’ to. It’s absolutely adorable and hilarious!
