Even though a lot of people may not look at farm animals the same way as pets such as dogs and cats, it’s important to remember that those animals have feelings and emotions too. These animals, too, can feel pain, relief, and despair.

While farm animals are generally treated well in most developed countries, not every animal out there can count on having a good life.

It’s especially bad for cows.

After all, most cows end up getting killed for food consumption when they get older, while others will have to produce milk for the rest of their lives by getting them pregnant over and over again.

And when they can’t produce any milk anymore, we can take an educated guess about what happens to them next.

One of these cows who was treated unfairly, Bandit the bull, was recently rescued and he had an incredible way of showing his gratitude.

Even though most cows are raised to produce milk or to be killed, Bandit the bull had an especially terrible life.

You see, every day he had to remain on tiny concrete floors, and he didn’t even get a taste of sunlight, all he saw was the floor and the wall. He didn’t even have a bit of fresh air.

To make things worse, the poor animal was chained up to a pipe every single day – hardly a life that any animal deserves.

Luckily, the animal organization Aiderbichl Estates in Salzburg, Austria, heard about this farm with inhuman living conditions for their cattle, so they decided to set up a rescue operation.

They’re definitely professionals, so to speak, as they’ve done over a hundred rescues since they were founded. Usually, there’s also one of the crew members who will film the entire rescue, not just to prove how dire the living conditions were, but also to share on the internet and raise awareness as well.

When the rescuers released Bandit from his chained pipe, he reacted in the most heartfelt way possible.

After all these years living between four walls, not being able to taste grass, breathe in some fresh air, or take in the sunlight, Bandit was finally free again.

They took him back to their own rescue facility, where they care for rescued cattle from all over the country. Bandit was especially in need of a warm, soft bed- and that’s exactly what the crew gave him.

The contrast at Bandit’s new place couldn’t be greater.

Just look at how he enjoys running around on straw! It’s not exactly anything special, but it definitely is for Bandit who has only known concrete floors, brick walls, and chains for the majority of his life.

The moment Bandit could finally roam around freely in his new pen is just magical to witness.

Bandit performs what the crew calls a “freedom dance”, and it’s so so touching to see finally see this animal happy.

His new environment is large, comfortable, and he can always count on the love and care of these fantastic animal workers.

The show of gratitude definitely didn’t end there.

Bandit headed towards his rescuers, and then gently put his own large head against them, to say thank you.

It’s just such an incredibly heartfelt moment, and it just proves that these farm animals have feelings and emotions too.

Bandit may have had the worst possible past, but thanks to these terrific animal rescuers, his future has never looked brighter.
