Sounds familiar?

Well, you are not alone. According to NCBI, the prevalence of colic is about 5–19% of infants. Colic can be distinguished by determining how many times a baby cries in a day. According to Wessel’s criteria, if the infant cries for at least 3 hours a day, at least three days a week, for at least three weeks, then it is a strong possibility of colic.

Also, babies with colic are inconsolable and would cry non-stop at night time.

Having a colicky baby is a tough challenge. It’s frustrating not being able to do anything for your newborn. You try your best, and you end up feeling down, and all you could do is try your best to make your little one comfortable.

Now, there have been many suggestions that promise to calm a colicky baby. Some suggest using special feeding bottles, some would opt to use white noise, and then others would try the motion and rock method.

But have you heard about colic relief from Chiropractic care?

Two years ago, Hackbart Chiropractic posted a video that went viral. The said video gained more than 6 million views and thousands of comments. The video is all about a colicky baby who had a major improvement after his session with a chiropractor.

The video starts as Dr. Tyler Hackbart interviews Shiela, one of their practice members. According to Dr. Tyler, Shiela is a new grandma and she is there to ask for help to see what the Chiropractor can do for her grandson, Winston.

Shiela said that ever since Winston was born, he never stopped being uncomfortable. She said he would sleep very little at night and would just scream no matter who held him.

Using his nervo-scope, Dr. Tyler checks the difference in temperature from Winston’s one side of the skin in his back to the paraspinal musculature.

He marks three spots and proceeds to ask Shiela to lay flat while holding her adorable grandchild.

Dr. Tyler then adjusts two points in Winston’s back. Then, he explains to Shiela what he will do next. He tells her that he needs to adjust Winston’s head back to its proper position, to do this; he needs to adjust his neck.

The video shifts to a day after Winston’s adjustment.

Now, Shiela is with her daughter, Winston’s mom, as he interviews them about the baby’s improvement.

According to Shiela, Winston was able to go (bowel) several times, and his screaming has lessened. Winston’s mom also agreed that after his son’s adjustment, they were all able to have better sleep.

Finally, we hear Dr. Tyler asking them if they recommend chiropractic care for infants, to which they replied, “Yes, definitely!”
