If you’ve got a newborn baby crawling around the house, you definitely feel like you need to have eyes everywhere as a parent. You can just turn around for a little while, and your toddler or newborn baby might be up to a little bit of mischief.
Of course, the only thing we want as a parent is to keep our babies safe and happy, and it takes a whole lot to “babyproof” your entire home for a newborn.
Things such as baby monitors can definitely come in handy, but you’ll also need proper materials for them to sit in, playpens as well as baby gates so that they won’t wander off to the more dangerous parts of the home. You wouldn’t want a newborn climbing up the stairs, for example.
Babies are very curious and love to explore their surroundings, which is why baby gates are absolutely essential safety tools.
Parents can block off entire parts of the home (such as different floors, rooms, or even pets) in order to keep their little ones safe. Admittedly, they might not be very practical for grown-ups and many will probably trip over them, but there’s nothing you wouldn’t do to keep your baby safe.
Unfortunately, these baby gates certainly aren’t foolproof, which is something that this adventurous baby has shown.
Sometimes they’re just not as effective as one would hope, because this 12-month-old was determined to climb over the fence and commit a “jailbreak”.
Mom was absolutely flabbergasted when she witnessed her little girl’s escape attempt, as she never would have guessed the baby would actually be capable of climbing over it. Just look at the adorable picture, it seems like an impossible obstacle for the toddler! Mia, however, certainly thought otherwise.
Mia might look sweet, but she’s an incredibly talented escape artist.
You’d never suspect it from this adorably baby, but she’s definitely one to keep an eye on. While Mia’s parents thought that this particular baby gate would keep her safe, they clearly underestimated her climbing and escaping abilities. She might be small, but climbing this rather large gate certainly was no issue at all.
One day, mom decided to place a camera opposite the gate, just so she could see how Mia could actually climb over it. She also knew that nobody would believe her without some proof, so she figured to capture the funny footage on tape.
The baby is actually pretty smart and uses the wooden bar in the middle of the gate as support.
With her knees on the bar, she pushes herself with her arms on top of the gate, giving her enough room to climb over it. Even though it appears as if she tumbles and falls in the video, Mia has the situation perfectly under control.
She lands her hand on one of the steps and pulls her legs to the opposite side. Mia definitely has an American Ninja Warrior career ahead of her!
Mia’s parents posted the “baby jailbreak” video on YouTube, and it quickly went viral with almost 10 million views.
To make things even funnier, as soon as Mia made it to the other side of the stairs, she looked back at mom and says hi!
