Let’s face it, tattoos can make you feel hip, young even. For kids, they make you feel older, might even give you air of confidence you need.
That’s why for Benjamin Lloyd from the Bay of Plenty, giving tattoos to sick kids is a fulfilling job. But before you freak out parents, no need to worry, the tattoos are temporary. Lloyd uses an airbrush for his tattoos, with ink that washes right off.
“It’s just amazing watching their confidence and their ego boost up,” he said. “The only bad thing is that they don’t want to take a shower afterwards.”
Because of how fulfilling it is to see kids’ faces light up, Lloyd took to Facebook to announce that he would give tattoos to all the kids at Auckland’s Starship Children’s Hospital if his post received over 50 likes. Then he went to bed.
The next morning, his post had received over 250,000 likes.
His operation is blowing up so fast now, he has his friends helping out to manage inquiries. Soon enough though, Lloyd plans to make good on his promise to ink up sick children at the local hospital.
