Nowadays, people tend to choose alternative ways of medical treatment and healing over the conventional mainstream ones. Herbal medicine, acupuncture, bio-resonance are just a few of the growing areas which have gained significant supporters over the last years.

Just a simple walk at the beach or a cup of thyme tea can be more effective than a visit to your doctor’s in case of a cold.

2. The beach can calm you down!

Do you know that many people have these sleeping sound devices that offer a wide variety of different sounds in order to help you sleep? Well, one thing you might have not known though is that among the most successful sounds are the sounds of water, such as the Ocean.

The rhythmic frequency in which the waves pound on the shore has the ability to calm down the mind, as our mind drifts, our breathing slows down and in consequence, we find ourselves in a state of total relaxation.

It’s not random that many people choose the beach as the place to meditate.

3. The sand can work miracles for your skin

Walking on the sand doesn’t only make you fitter, and help tone your leg muscles, but it is great for your skin. Sand is a natural exfoliant, which means that the friction between the sand and your skin, can help you get rid of the dead skin cells found in your feet and legs, as it helps with the skin peeling.

You might have seen people sit or lay down on the beach, rubbing the sand to their bodies. It’s not that they are eccentric but they probably know the benefits of using sand as an exfoliant.

Once you have finished with your “treatment”, don’t forget to wash it off in the ocean, as the cold water from the ocean will help you tighten your skin and make it younger-looking!

Since hundreds of years ago, doctors have been suggesting to their patients to have lengthy stays at the seaside as it would help with their various conditions.
