We are all growing older every second. As we get older, the things we used to know and love disappear from our lives. Years after, it can be fun to reminisce about the things from yesterday. The older you grow, the more the things you used to know become relics of the past. If you can remember these relics, you are at least starting to get a little old.
Have you ever cooked a meal in one of these?
One day none of us will have to cook any of our meals. We will just order them from a food synthesizer like we are on Star Trek and that will be that. If you are starting to grow a little bit older, perhaps you remember cooking a meal in one of these.
There can be no doubt about it, if you have ever eaten regularly at a table that looks like this, there’s a good chance you are kind of old. The only other consideration is that you might be a hipster who just got back from a yard sale.
As people no longer seem to play jacks anymore, future generations will never know the agony of stepping on one of them. If you do know such agony, you might be starting to get a little old.
One of the fun parts about getting older is that you get to see development in many different fields, such as medicine. Then you can look back on all the medieval things you used to use for such purposes and laugh! Or cry…
Nowadays if you want to speed up or slow down the music you are listening to, there are all sorts of apps and options available to you. Back in the day, you could switch your record player to these options only.
If you’ve ever made popcorn in such a way that it looks as though you are creating a living being with a frying pan, then you might be starting to get a little bit old. You might want to ask your doctor if you should still be eating such salty foods.
Have you ever put your foot into one of these before?
Some people will look at this picture and not know what this strange contraption is. Well, people used to shove their dirty socks on it all day long to figure out what shoe size they are. Gross, right?
If you’re starting to get a little bit older, you probably know what is underneath this doll. If you don’t know what is under this doll, it could lead to some frightening bathroom moments while visiting someone older.

If you can remember what stores these blue lights were from, then congratulations, you are starting to get a little bit old. If you recognize the lights but just can’t seem to place where you remember them from, then you might be getting even older.
If you ever scrubbed this thing over your shoe then there’s a good chance by now you are starting to be something of an old person. People don’t seem to perform shoe surgeries anymore.
If you recognize what these objects are, then you are probably starting to get a little bit old. If you assume they are probably some type of medieval surgical tool then congratulations, you are still a young person.
If this picture makes you hungry for cheese, you are probably starting to get old. If it doesn’t make you hungry for cheese, then you are either a young person or vegan (or both).
If you were in a marching band when you were younger, and you remember using these, it means two things. First, you’re starting to get a little bit old. Secondly, your music teachers didn’t trust your ability to play an instrument.
Did you have or know someone who had this blanket?
Look at the design of this blanket. Somebody said let’s make a wavy brown orange and white design and it became standard blanket appearance for a whole generation. If you are old, you likely know someone who had one or are someone who did. They’re called afghan blankets, by the way, and apparently they’re making a comeback.

If you look at a radio like this and just don’t know how you are expected to make music or sound come out of it, then you are a young person. If you’ve ever used these dials to find a station playing Led Zeppelin, however, then you’re starting to get a little old. Don’t worry, you still rock!
If you remember what this item on the driver’s side floor of cars used to do then congratulations, you are a wise and experienced person. Then again, you might be old enough to remember these and still not know what they did.
If you ever received one of these stockings over the holiday season then you are probably starting to get a little bit old. These were generally filled with chocolate and candy so you might want to visit a dentist and make sure your old person teeth aren’t falling out.
Young people will look at this photo and have no idea what it is. You can tell them it was a way to keep track of all your contacts and they will still have no idea how it works.
It’s funny to look back at the technology we used to use. This thing used to be responsible for making coffee. Nowadays, people have tiny robots that make them lattes and espressos.
Up until recently, it was totally normal to allow your children to be obsessed with guns. This is a cap gun and the smoke that came out of it smelt terrible but it made a loud bang that you could scare your friends with.
Evidently, some people used to keep track of what page of the newspaper they were on by slapping some silly puddy in there. We’re not sure what generation invented dog earring newspapers, but it came after the puddy people.
Do you remember these? You would hook them up to a special pair of glasses and watch a whole story through them. It’s like we were living in a whole different universe!
If you went to school during a time where these were used, you are starting to get a little bit older. You might want to double check some of the things you learned during your schooling, there has been some significant changes.
We’re not sure when these were invented and when they went out of style, but these things were a fixture at parks many years ago. They weren’t all together that fun but they weren’t terrible either. It was a suitable way to spend 20 minutes.

Do you remember this? A little over two decades ago everybody thought the world was going to end. The Y2K problem turned out to be a little bit overblown.
One day you will go to a museum and possibly see an item like this. That sort of depends on how interesting the museum you are visiting is, however. This is what scholars will one day refer to as a “window roller upper” because that’s what it did.
If you ever had to unfold an album cover to read the lyrics…you might be kind of old
Young people today will never know the joy of buying their favorite band’s tape and then unfolding the album cover to read the terrible, terrible lyrics to songs which your future self will be embarrassed to have ever liked in the first place.
If you remember what video game console games shaped like this were for, then you are starting to get a little bit old. If you remember blowing into old school Nintendo games when they stopped working, you are even older.
If you used to tell your friends to call you after 9:00 p.m. when your minutes were free, then you are starting to get a little old. Hopefully, all that money you saved on your phone bills when you were younger is starting to pay off now.
As of this writing, young people all over the world are trying to get their hands on a PlayStation 5 console. If you are a little bit older, however, you are satisfied with a game like this.
If you ever remember looking ahead of you while seated on a plane and seeing an old school car phone like this, then you are starting to get a little bit old. If you know what we meant when we said “car phone” in that last sentence, you are even older.
If you have ever asked Jeeves about anything, then you are starting to get a little bit old now. Back in the day, Jeeves was the guardian that kept fake news from having a hold on the internet like it does today.
You are looking at a ghost. This is the ghost of a once profitable and successful business. The company that used to occupy this store has fallen on hard times, to say the least.
Back in the day, car manufacturers assumed everyone needed access to a lighter all the times. So, they put a bunch of them in little ashtrays located on car doors. Then, people promptly burned themselves on those lighters for years.
If you used to have your whole life planned out through a game of mash, then you are starting to get a little bit old. if you still have some of those old pieces of paper, maybe check and see how accurate those predictions were. Hopefully, you don’t live in a shack.
Texting used to be a whole lot harder than it is today. If you remember having to push a button three times just to get the correct letter once, then you are starting to get a little bit older.
If you have ever known both the joy and agony of having to wait to get your pictures developed, then you are starting to get a little bit older. If you remember shaking a Polaroid picture to make it develop faster, then you are even older.
