Unusual pairings, like chicken and waffles, or doggy and ferret BFFs, might seem out of place in a world that likes to stick to the rules.
But where’s the fun in that? Chicken and waffles taste absolutely divine, and doggy-ferret duos are proof that nature loves to color outside of the lines!
And so begins the adventures of Nova, a big’n’goofy German Shepherd, and Pacco, her feisty ferret friend.
It seriously can’t get any more adorable than this!
1. Playin’ dead on the first date
One could probably say it was love at first sight when Nova and Pacco first met. But perhaps it was more like: “Don’t die on me bruh! You still haven’t paid for your part of the dinner check!”
2. Heading home for some cuddles
In her heyday, Nova got to mingle with all sorts of animals, like cats, rats, and parrots. But, when she caught sight of Pacco, that was it – she had finally met the true BFF of her life!
Just like their human counterparts, even furry friends can fight about who gets which side of the bed. Or in Nova’s case, no side of the bed.
4. Morning after their first fight
Sometimes it can be a little bit awkward to kiss and make up after a big fight. Like, when you’re trying to pucker up, they want to pick your teeth!
5. Best traveling companions ever
These two crazies are practically joined at the neck. They never leave each others sight, which means they get double the bonus miles any time they travel together!
6. Birthday parties are a hoot!
It’s not always fun getting older, especially for dogs who tend to age in lump sums of 7. But for Pacco, every birthday is a reminder to celebrate what time they do have together!
7. That’s what I think of your stinking idea!
Sometimes friends are so close to each other, they make up a language only they can understand. Other times, it’s actions that speak louder than words.
8. Which track should they cut first?
A totally generic country tune about being in the dog house? Or how about some OG hip-hop classics, like Ferret’s Delight?
9. They Netflix and chill together
Nova thought they were gearing up to binge-watch
Game of Thrones. But Pacco just wanted to chillax with his homegrown Floof of Thrones.
10. On the next episode of Naked and Afraid…
Trying to survive in the wild can be super tough when you’re just as soft and domesticated as humans. But these two friends have made a pact that if the other one gets hungry, gnawing on each other is not totally off-limits.
11. Friends that sleep together also take baths together.
Pacco never has to worry about drowning since Nova can’t seem to keep her nose out of his biz. But that’s okay because that actually makes it really easy to grab a doggy booger snacks!
Soaking up the rays while relaxing in the grass is one of the best parts about having a BFF by your side. There’s also the fact that Nova makes a really good portable pillow.
13. I told you to stop it already!
Sometimes when you eat, sleep, and breathe each other 24/7, it can take a toll on your friendship. Especially when your BFF doesn’t understand why you hate it when he jams his whole foot down your earhole!
Friendship is often a give and take endeavor. For example, when Nova rubs Pacco’s belly, he plans to eventually return the favor…maybe.
15. The Child aka Baby Ferret
Throwback Thursday photos like this show Nova and Pacco at the very beginning of their blossoming friendship. This tender moment in particular depicts the very first time they shared their lice with each other.
Ferrets are natural-born killers and can hunt prey 5 times their size. Lucky for Nova, she’s 6 times his size, so Pacco has to settle for mossy grubs instead.
Time always seems to go by much faster when your best bud is just as sick as you are. And we all know that friends that freely give their cooties to you are the best kind to have around!
Sometimes things can get lost in translation when your bestie tries to whisper sweet nothings into your ears. Especially when it sounds like he want to order some Pizza Rat for dinner.
19. They love you no matter what
You know you’ve made a friend for life when they help you bury the 5 mice you’ve just serial-killed. Those are the sort of pals you want to bring home to mom for dinner.
20. They love the same movies
It’s fun when your bestie loves to re-enact your favorite movie scenes with you. Guess which one is John Hurt and which one’s the Alien!
21. She’ll sit, roll over, and play dead
Pacco absolutely adores his brand new toy. It’s not every ferret that gets a big old puppy to play with!
22. They love the same music
“Every snack you make, every meal you bake, every bite you take… We’ll be watching you!”
As you can see, Nova and Pacco love digging each other’s graves for one other. Now, that’s true love right there!
24. They visit boozy watering holes together
So what if it’s still light out? There’s no rule that says you have to wait until the sun is down to drink your heart out!
After a long day of spending time together, it’s finally time for a nap. Sweet dreams, you adorable floofs!
