Architecture is certainly a difficult profession. Sometimes architects work hard to deliver aesthetically pleasing and at the same time practical spaces and buildings, but sometimes they seem to be like YOLO, let’s mess it up and see what happens.
Here follow some of these architectural YOLO moments. Enjoy!
The person who designed the staircase had an evil plan in mind for sure. Let’s hope noone gets hurt.
The person who designed this deserves an award- or a lawsuit. What do you think?
Really, why would someone paint a tunnel on a wall? The driver of this car was lucky he didn’t get hurt.
Seriously though? Who would put such a sign in the middle of the bike lane?
We can’t imagine how skilled a cyclist should be in order to ride this close to the river. Apparently someone finds it very easy.
This is hilarious, but it also makes you wonder if the person putting up the signs was drunk.
Seriously? A faucet over an electricity socket? This looks like a trap.
Wow, that’s a playground experience to remember- if you make it out of there alive that is.
How do you like these comfy benches? They come with nice prickly pillows too!
This was a very bad idea! Or it was made for really short people- who knows!
11. When Disability Needs Extreme-Sport Skills
Isn’t this too steep a ramp? And what’s with the plant at the end of it?
12. Light At The End Of The Tunnel
We’re wondering how many car crashes it’s going to take before this mural is removed.
13. What Kind Of Sorcery Is That?
How is this even possible? Is this an apocalyptic sign?
Well, the reflective sign could help, but, really, a pole on the very lane?
Well, we guess the belconies are reserved for special, probably annoying, guests.
Knowing that this is found in a design school, we really can’t think what it symbolizes.
When all you need to do is install a traffic light, and it ends up like this. Well, at least they tried.
We don’t know where these stairs lead, but we hope it’s worth the effort- although it probably isn’t.
That’s the only thing you can do in case of emergency, because the fire extinctor is not an option.
20. Are You Sure You’re An Engineer?
We’d love to meet the engineer behind this unique building. Much as we appreciate it as a piece of art, we wouldn’t dare stay in there.
How far would you go in order to charge your phone? These sockets are here to test your limits.
One more instance of pure hate against cyclists- why would they do this?
Whoever designed this slide- and probably the whole playground- doesn’t seem to love kids.
This picture only makes sense if the tracks are out of service- let’s hope they are.
Imagine enjoying your lunch and having someone land on your table from… above!
Well, you’ll have some trouble trying to park your car there, but you can easily park two motorbikes, right? There’s always a silver lining.
27. Are You Sure This Is The Emergency Exit?
Whatever you do, don’t go for the emergency exit in this building- no chance to survive.
We bet this is where the professor goes and peeps into the classroom when he pretends to be leaving for a minute.
The designer apparently had in mind that those who go left will have the privilege of doing the limbo dance every time!
Same as the previous pole on the road, only this time worse: it’s right in the middle of the lane!
We bet they first installed the fire alarm and then they decided this was a good spot to place the claw game without even considering this may result in the whole building burning down some time.
We’re wondering who was the genius who installed the parking meter right there. As if there wasn’t enough sidewalk space.
33. Save Room For The Tree
When you’re not sure if it’s more important to cater for the needs of the disabled or to save a tree. Win-win, or maybe not?
We hope this lady turned her head to look outside before stepping out of the car.
We hope whoever rented the place went to see it first, because one thing is for sure- you can park nothing in that garage.
Oh, come on, the step is there to make sure you stop at some point. Don’t be a drama queen!
Not only is this ramp steep, but it also gets bumpy at the end of it. Seriously, people?
Is this another way to say “you have arrived at your destination”? Probably not.
This one had us laughing so hard! How to you even get to the ramp? Using the stairs? It’s just absurd!
Make sure you remember to use the right foot when you exit- like, literally.
Is it even worth trying to use the ramp if it is designed like this? Better take the stairs.
Still, you can’t convince us that these people don’t hate cyclists- it’s quite obvious by now.
Once you get to the end of the bike lane, bunnyhop or do the limbo dance to get to the motorway- wait, did we just say “motorway”?
A sign above the dryer might be a good idea- you never know!
Not what you had in mind when you imagined drinking coffee on the balcony in the summer.
46. Not Very Well-Thought Out
The weirdest thing is that there’s so much land around that this should have been avoided.
“Are there many steps to get to your apartment?” “No, just one.”
We understand they wanted to save this tree, but why did they have to design a parking spot there too?
Well, this could turn into a dead end, literally, if an emergency comes up.
This combination of stairs and ramp wants to make you believe you can walk, and you will. If you don’t, there’s no way out anyway.
We hope these fails made you laugh and realize that one needs to be sober when taking up a task! It’s really important.
