Changing your hairstyle can be traumatizing, especially if you feel you’re making a radical change. And it seems that a lot of people feel bangs are a radical change.
But in each of the following before and after shots the changes are awesome. And it’s amazing that some of these women are still questioning that after the fact.
I wonder if there is some sort of software where you can virtually change your hairstyle so you can get a sense of how it will look. Like how you can try on glasses virtually. If this technology doesn’t exist, I think it really should.
What do you think?
1. Curly girl!
As a curly girl with equally mad amounts of hair, I can relate. Love the bangs, but I’m wondering if she got it all cut off too. Because I love being able to put mine up. And I always wear bangs.
2. Too bad we can’t see her face.
It’s really hard to make a comparison on half of her face. But it looks like the bangs give her sharper features.
3. Wow!
As far as I can tell, her eye makeup is the same. But to me the bangs make her eyes look more slanted and dramatic.
4. Wise choice!
She has a big forehead—a fivehead? The bangs are such a cute look and really compliment her.
5. Whole new vibe
Can we talk about the color too? I love it. Between that and the bangs, she’s completely rocking it.
What a change! From someone who looks like a complete sweetheart to someone who looks like a warrior. Awesome!
7. Oh, yeah!
You can definitely pull this off. Such an incredible—positive—difference. And she definitely looks younger.
8. She did need a change!
And I think she made a very wise decision. I love the way her new bangs compliment her face. So cute.
9. Adorable!
Frankly, she looks great either way. But the first is definitely more severe while the second is just so damn cute.
10. What a change!
Is it just me, or does she look like a new person? The first cut completely drags her face down, and the second rounds it out and makes her eyes pop.
11. It most certainly did!
This look is much more current. And look at her eyes. Weird, how they seemed to be invisible before.
12. Spur of the moment
Sometimes we overthink things too much. She says she just decided to do this one morning before class, and cut them herself. And they look awesome.
13. The perfect fringe
She has amazing eyes, doesn’t she? And the whole makeover is incredible.
14. This is a change!
We typically see really long hair that does nothing for the face. This is the first time we’ve seen buzz cut to bangs. And she looks great either way. Not a whole lot of people can pull off a buzz cut.
15. Oh, yeah
First, I’m not a fan of these straight hairstyles that just hang there, but I guess you’ve got to work with what you have. But I love the new cut—the bangs and the bounce.
16. Aquamarine
She looks like an entirely different person. She didn’t just change her hair, she changed her vibe.
17. And you should!
Feel a bit edgy, I mean. I think the bangs and the glasses fit her face perfectly.
18. The bangs
Definitely the bangs. Do you all agree with me? Don’t the bangs do something super complimentary for her face?
19. Definitely quirky
I wish we could see her dimples in the after pic with the bangs. But they really do suit her.
20. Before and 2020
There should be some guidance about what styles work well with a mask. Not that she needs it. She looks awesome, mask and all.
21. Glow up!
When you’re already gorgeous and you make a change. That makes you even more stunning than before.
22. Cut off some years
Look at how much younger she looks. And all she needed to do was cut off some hair.
23. But I love the pink!
That said, I do like her new look. Sort of girl next door, all natural and fun.
24. Impulse decision
She decided to do this on a whim. I think she made the right choice, and that she needs to stop second guessing herself.
25. I think she made the right choice
She says she doesn’t plan to curl it every day, which I think is a shame. That volume looks great. But either way, the bangs were the right choice for her.
26Love the new color
. And she has gorgeous eyes. The new cut really emphasizes them.
27. Due for a change
I don’t think anyone should go for years without changing their style. Our faces change as we age, so update the hairstyle along the way.
28. Some nice wispy bangs
You know, even though half of her face is obscured, she still looks awesome. The bangs just complete an all around great look.
29. She’s on fire!
Really! Those cascading bangs and rippling curls look like waves of flames. She looks hot.
30. And so you should
Because you are a completely different woman with that cut. And you know it, don’t you? Look at that smile.
31. Sometimes you just need to trust someone
And I’m glad she took the advice you were given. Because this is an awesome, quirky new look.
32. Wowza
What an incredible difference! It’s truly amazing how bangs can change the face.
33. Honestly?
I’m not sure. Because her hair is gorgeous, and she looks fabulous in the first pic. But she looks amazing in the second one too.
34. What a great cut
Her expressions are pretty much identical, but what a change. Her stylist did and excellent job at framing her face.
35. Hard to compare!
Does she look better with bangs? We don’t really know. But for a cut she did on her own, I’d say it suits her.
36. And now she looks like a Pixie
I agree with all the people that encouraged her to try this. It really suits her face. I think she looks adorable.
37. I really hate masks
I mean, I totally get the necessity, but I really miss being able to see people’s faces. I think she looks great either way, but I do love the new color and the bangs look awesome.
I would never even attempt that pink! But she’s rocking both the pink and the bangs. She looks fabulous.
39. It’s just too bad
That we can’t see the full frontal view in the second pic as well. She’s beautiful to begin with, but I would like to see how the bangs really change her face. Oh, well.
40. This is how you do it!
She has the same pose and the same expression in each picture. Now we can truly see the difference. And we love it!
41. We love them too!
Definite improvement. I really love the way they frame her face. Think she looks super cute.
42. Another brave woman!
I’m a curly girl as well, and have been cutting my own bangs for years. The first few times it was scary, but the trick is knowing where to cut when you have your hair pulled straight. Or else they are way too short!
43. What the heck are Korean bangs?
Is that something she made up? Or are Korean bangs really a thing? Regardless, the bangs do make her look less severe.
44. Well, I don’t know
My immediate impression was that I liked the first look better. Without the bangs. Am I wrong? What do you guys think?
45. Keep smiling
Really, nobody looks good with such a sad, sour expression like she has in the first. So I don’t know if it’s the cut or the smile, but she’s definitely looking better in the after pic.
