Chops & These Ingredients In A Slow Cooker Make A Feast

Pork is incredibly tasty meat. The only downside is that it can be a chore to cook it to perfection. But not if you follow this super easy recipe.

The slow cooker must be the greatest kitchen invention since the fridge.

Sorry, microwaves, but slow cookers are practically hassle-free and never make food taste bad.

In fact, the most complex part of cooking with a slow cooker is deciding what to put in it.

Well, if you want to make something that’s delicious, can feed a whole family and is cheap, then this is the perfect recipe.

So instead of marinating, searing, flipping and carefully watching, all you have to do is this:

1. Gather these ingredients

Two pounds of pork chops.

One tablespoon of minced garlic.

A quarter cup of honey.

One tablespoon of rosemary

One teaspoon of thyme.

(If you like, you can also add salt, pepper or any spice that you like!)

2. Prepare like so

Firstly, put the minced garlic (and salt and pepper, if you’re having them) all over the pork chops.

Put the chops in the slow cooker.

Pour the honey over the pork chops.

Sprinkle the rosemary and thyme onto the top of the pork chops.

Cover the slow cooker, put it on high and leave it cooking for three hours.

3. They should be ready by now.

Double check that they’re cooked through. If they’re done, then enjoy. If they’re not quite done, put them back in for a half hour or so.

The way that the slow cooker heats the pork and honey should mean that the chops have absorbed the sweet liquid.

It also makes the meat as tender as possible. It’s definitely going to taste delicious!

Of course, a true meat lover should find more than enough to enjoy in just these pork chops. But many others will want a side dish.

There are some amazing budget-friendly sides that you can make that’ll wow the whole family.

For example, using more honey and the rest of your herbs, you can glaze some sliced carrots and roast them for 40 minutes in an oven at 400 degrees. The cooked carrots will complement the meat perfectly. And no one will believe that you put in such little effort to make something that tasted so good.

Or if you want to add some greens to the mix, you can just mix some broccoli with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. Then you can roast them for 20 minutes at 450 degrees.

A meal of pork chops, carrots and broccoli is so cost-effective.

Two pounds of pork chops cost about $8. One pound of carrots cost around $1. And one pound of broccoli costs about $2. If you’ve already got the honey and spices at home, then this meal only costs $11.00 for a whole family!

Of course, if you have to buy honey, garlic and the other spices, then that brings the cost up some more. One pound of honey costs around $6. One pound of minced garlic costs around $3. And little bottles of thyme and rosemary cost about $1 each.

But then again, it’s not like you’re using the entire bottle of honey or spices in the dish.

There’s no denying that this is some delicious food that is friendly for people on a tight budget!
